OCTANE CHOICE

ok lots of talk in the past about the fuse pull to get the car running its best on 93 octane. is there any thing to do when going the other way down grading to 87 octane. I know the obvious of loosed performance but at this point 5.25 a gallon is starting to hurt.

The car has a low octane timing map, it's just going to pull timing when the engine knocks and you lose power.

People will lose their minds for me saying this, but you can leave room for a couple gallons of e85 and the rest low octane to save $. I've done it many times. It's more reliable and cheaper than octane boosters which mostly do nothing. There are one or two "Torco?" that do something but cost $$.
IIRC e85 is something like 110octane. It will slightly lower your mpg but mixed at that low ratio it will be way cheaper than high octane per tank-miles.

Go get a throttle controller for about $200 and keep it on economy mode and only use the normal drive mode for your camaro. The combo of those 2 should save you on fuel cost.

IMO find other ways to save money like eliminating fast food restaurants or getting rid of cable/satellite TV. My Camaros (and yours) are worth it.

I stop spending money on hookers. In SF Bay Area, premium is $6.69 a gallon.
