Leak passenger side of engine
So, I found a leak on the passenger side of my engine. The hose clamp broke. But I have no idea what the hose is for. Or what clamp/part to buy to fix it.
Any help would be appreciated. And if you think this is a DIY or a take it to the shop type fix. I know for sure the clamp is broken. Somehow even with my driving the broken part stayed on the frame. But it’s hard to tell if anything else is broken. Or if the fluid is just on the outside of everything. And can anyone help me to know what fluid is inside this hose? |

Looks like a radiator hose clamp broke and the rust is because some of newer antifreeze is pretty corrosive. Your coolant level might be low. The hose will have to removed to place a new clamp on the hose.
If this was my car I'd probably inspect the hose and if is soft or bulging I'd probably replace the hose and have the radiator and cooling system flushed. My Camaro will be nine years old this September so mine could stand being flushed. You can replace the clamp and top off the coolant which would be the cheapest route. |

All correct. I just replaced my upper and lower hoses a month ago, along with most of the fluid. It was time as I had over 110K miles and 8 years old. While there I change the serpentine belt too.

You really do not have to remove the hose , just unclamp the clamp completely ( keep turning left ) and restart around the hose once the old clamp has been removed !
