Peace of mind is always nice to have, but honestly, like these guys already said, as long as the oil isn't milky and you're not shooting white smoke out the exhaust, it's probably no big deal. Coolant levels on my Cobalt used to fluctuate like crazy with no leaks at all.

Plenty of chips. I just touch them up. Except for the gill area. I don't have enough time in my day to do all that touch up.

I didn't notice anything when we were driving it Saturday,but we didn't go very far.

I didn't either. And I played thru the gears a good number of times on the way home. No odd smells, nothing.

My hopes are that a hose is junk and allowed the reservoir to drain out, now its just doesn't have enough coolant so its now providing max cooling.

Time will tell.

Your reservoir tank really doesn't have anything to do with cooling other than keeping the radiator full. It just catches coolant if you're hot enough to blow off steam and then the radiator sucks it back in as it cools

Ya...but its still a closed system. We'll see what happens.

Refill it and let it idle in the driveway with the AC off. I have a feeling that if there is a leak, it'll show when the coolant starts getting hot again.

I did my electrical engineering but masters in software and now work with UNIX.. i dont remember one thing i learnd in 4 years of electrical engineering.. such a waste of effort
