NP! I'm self taught too. Been using Photoshop since Photoshop 5, before the Creative Suite even existed. Before that, I was using Paint Shop Pro. I'm a designer professionally but I'm always learning, and I think it's always a great idea to teach others, because you often learn a lot in doing that as well.

Great video btw. Although, I watched it at work without sound and I admit I skipped a lot of it because I was at work. :\

Now go fall in love with smart objects. You won't be sorry! They're usable in Illustrator, and InDesign too!

I often work between the three programs, and double clicking the smart object in Photoshop will open it in the generating program where you can make your changes, and then resave or close-and-save, and they will update in Photoshop without you having to do anything. Smart objects are super powerful and will save you a lot of time and help to keep your quality of work high.

Remember though, that in Photoshop, if you hit ctrl/cmd+k to go to the preferences, under the General tab, "Image Interpolation" will affect the way that translated objects (smart objects in particular) will look if you use ctrl/cmd+e to transform. If your results are blurry or otherwise unsatisfactory, try setting a different algorithm there, and then on your smart object, hit ctrl/cmd+e, & enter to reapply and recalculate the transformation.

And I was maybe putting in 6 hours a week. Hell if I wasnt so busy now at my advertising agency, id be doing as much freelance work as I possibly could.
I can't say with 100% certainty, but I think he's gotten a little help from some friends here and there for making things like flyers, posters, renders, etc.

He does awesome work.

Awesome vid! That turned out awesome! Just one question, do you make these for people for free or charge or what? I would love to have one BUT I am a broke college kid so I cant really throw money around, would love to have a background like this of my car though. I can do simple photoshop stuff but nothing like this and my laptop doesnt have photoshop (my user image and signature were done by me). If you would let me know on that I'd greatly appreciate! Thanks!
