Testing The Waters

Thanks for setting this up Spike!

Many of you may remember I held a car event the past couple years at Barnard Chevrolet/Buick in Geneva. After the show we traveled to Watkins Glen and ran the track. We took time off in 2014, not holding an event, but I am testing the idea of holding another show in 2015, but at a little different venue.

There is a new ice cream stand/food joint and go cart track just east of the Finger Lakes Outlet Mall on route 318 called Country Swirlz (http://www.countryswirlz.com/). About a 40 minute ride away is Spencer Speedway which runs on Saturday evenings (http://www.spencerspeedway.org/index2.htm). They have a 1/10th mile drag track. My proposal is to hold a show at the ice cream stand grounds with a day of go cart fun and great food, leaving about 3:00PM to run to Spencer Speedway. I understand that the track will accommodate us either running with the street class or if we request we can run as a special class of our own. 1/10th mile is not that long so you won't be beating you car up, yet you will get the thrill of running an official drag track. I personally have never done it and would look forward to the opportunity.

Near the Country Swirlz ice cream stand is the Finger Lakes Outlet Mall (http://www.premiumoutlets.com/outlets/outlet.asp?id=9), Ashley Winery (http://www.ashleywines.com/), and Finger Lakes Tea Company (http://www.fingerlakestea.com/) for those with the finer taste. Country Swirlz is easily accessable from either NY State exits 41 (Waterloo) or 42 (Geneva).

If this is of interest to you please comment so I can get a feel of total interest. The show would be open to all.
