The K5 Blazer became today’s Tahoe.

Two completely different, unrelated chassis, even though Chevrolet used the same “Blazer” name on both for a while.
I keep bringing it up because the post was GM F'ed up because everyone would be expexpecting the off road warrior known as the previous Blazer. The previous Blazer was NOT an off road warrior. S/T or C/K. My experience was the S/T Blazer and today's announcement fits just fine.......if that even matters.

Sorry to confuse you but the current buyers won't be expecting an off road Jeep competitor. Bronco may or may not be a valiant attempt at competing with Jeep.

Sorry I'm not being clear, but the post was that the 2019 was a fail because everyone would be expecting the magnificent off road vehicle the old Blazer was

I guess I was thinking more between a Cherokee and Grand Cherokee.

Wait, didn't the legendary Cherokee go crossover too...?

I like it but shouldn't call it a Blazer. Chevy just needs to let some names die unless the new vehicle has some type of resemblance.

Agree with Number 3. This is what the vast majority of consumers recall Blazer to be. Not the old full size model.

Just another example of the disconnect that exists with enthusiasts and the buying public.

Your experience is the S-10 Blazer with a 4 banger or 2.8-4.3 V6. You’re right, that was NOT an off road warrior.

When anyone simply says “Blazer” they mean the full size model with the 350 or 454. That in fact WAS an off road warrior.

GM should have chosen either a different name all together or called the TrailBlazer. Or he’ll the S-10 Blazer. But straight “Blazer” is a different beast and a much beloved name and truck.

With the Colorado for off-roading, I wouldn't have expected the Blazer to be an off-road monster....SUVs, Cross-overs, etc., are what will sell in large numbers....Blazer?...meh...I remember them from back in the day.....Not quite enough nostalgia or legacy for a come-back for an old-school Blazer...
The Blazer name adds a little "attitude" to this tweener SUV, that's about it....If it creates more sales in the SUV area for GM, then let it have the Blazer name.

With the Colorado available, an off-road beast Blazer probably doesn't make much sense.

I like the design. Maybe if in the market for something bigger and more retro then wait for the new Ford Bronco to be unveiled i would say.

I like it a lot. Throw in a V8 with AWD and I would buy one in a heart beat.

i come on tonight and see this and already people comparing it to the Camaro SS. I'm not sure i'd like it on the Camaro any way it was executed, but it is definitely better executed on the Blazer than on the Camaro.

price?

Looks nice, too much like the Equinox, more aggressive though, interior has lots of clues from the Camaro. Loaded Premier will be in the $40's, probably mid to high, will be too much of that high.

I think the Bronco will be a disappointment...It will likely look more like this Blazer than it will look like a Jeep or the old Broncos...

SUVs are the money-makers, and Ford won't want to miss out, either.
