CAMMED long tube 1LE vs scatpack 392 A8

I was wondering if this would be a good race A8 392 scatpack challenger vs cammed 1Le ...437rwhp auto vs :480 rwhp 6 speed ..I own both being the challengers stock go 12.1-12.4 114mph on avg I'm thinking the challenger from a dig has the advantage from a roll it should be closer ..any opinions

Your 1le should beat the challenger, easily.

Hard to out launch and out shift the automatic. From a roll you should pull in a lighter car with more power.

That car pulls hard top end. He may light the tires from a dig. Don't make a mistake or you may lose.

Those things are no joke. But I think he might start out strong, then you should beat him

I owned a cammed 446-rwhp Camaro, its best pass was a 12:20s but most were in the 12:30s-12:50s range, I just couldn't get the car to launch even with DRs. I also owned a completely stock 2012 392 and its best pass was 12:40s the average was low 12:50s. The new ScatPack should be a tad quicker than my 392. It's going to be a close race.

I played with a new scat pack on a private road and had the advantage. I just have a few bolt ons and a tune. I'm a big fan of the scat pack, I've been trying to talk one of my dodge buddies into buying one. With a cam it wouldn't be close. The one I encountered was a manual trans.

I've taken them from a roll pretty easy. They are strong though. I have your same mods plus 3.91's ptb and udp. You should still beat the 392

I can pull away from a buddies stock 392 (manual) not a slaughter, just a good win for me.
Mine has just a CAI.

Cammed 5th gen should trap way above 114mph. Even a well tuned bolt-on 5th gen can trap 116-117mph in good air. Should be 118-122mph with a cam depending on the aggressiveness of the set up. You shouldn't have any issues walking a stock Scatpack Challenger.

Well tonight I ran my 430 mile a8 scat against a 2013 SS 6 speed ARH long tubes no cats Cai tune and 391s I got him from the dig 2-3 cars then a roll 1 full car and realized I never had the car in sport mode in the track pack settings menu so i assume if it was a CAMMED car he would be faster ..guy asked me to pull over to check out my ride .He said wow your car runs like a bitch can't believe its that fast stock ,he also noted how well it shifted ..the scat is strong out of the gate and really pulls up top too .each day it gets faster I got 35 miles until the ecu unlocks the launch control ...I'm gonna put drag radials on it next week so I can use the launch control to fullest it lets you change the converter stall from 1500 all the way to 3500 ..with that 471. 1st gear it comes out hard and nails every shift at 6400 faster than you can blink ...0.16 sec to be exact ..I'm thinking imagine how fast the new A8 CAMARO SS will be ... 500 lbs lighter .. On a side note a friend of mine went 12.20 114 with his a8 scat on stock rubber so far the best stock time is 12.17 on stock tire and 11.88 on nothing more than drag radials

You may be surprised at just how fast those A8 392's really are. They for sure are no joke. Keep us posted.
