Transmission questions again...

Hey all,
Sooooo just wondering if anyone else Manual trans is kinda loud. Not really hearing chatter just seems to be loud. I had the dealership check it out because my 2nd gear is fighting every other time. Asked him about the noise and he said its basically how they are.
About to do fluid service on the trans and diff but wanted to wait if i do need to have them check it out. Only 18k on the car.

Thanks for any input!

I have been hearing about redline or syncromax i will be getting either one of those for sure. I have done some hard pulls but no slamming it into gear. Even regular around town 2nd will be hesitant to go in.

I used Mobil 1 myself. I've never had much of an issue, before or after. Although it isn't super smooth until it's warm.

I use royal purple and it seems to be a lot better than factory fill. Before I swapped fluids, there would a lot of gear grinding from 1 to 2 and 2 to 3...now, only when it's cold does it grind but I have learned to shift from 1st to 4th until the transmission is warmed up. After that, its fine. It still sounds like I'm driving a truck's at low speeds. The clanking and banging is something else.

I used Royal Purple for the first couple years and it was a big improvement over stock fluid. This year I changed to Red Line.....WOW.... unreal ! Just like a new transmission.

Tremec finally came out with their own fluid. Closer to gear oil in viscosity.

mine is pretty noisy as well.I notice it more in the heat of summer when the ac is on and mostly when stopped at a light with the car in neutral and the clutch released. i still have the factory fluid in it. gonna change it this spring after the winter hibernation. i have slight grind issues with 2nd gear when its cold. Havent decided if im going with Redline or Tremec fluid, most likely redline.

I put Redline in mine and never noticed much difference. I do bang mine pretty hard when drag racing, but the only thing I ever noticed was it needing a little more omph to get in to 2nd when it started getting old out (like below 50). I don't drive it in the winter, so not sure if it gets worse the colder it gets. I've never had an issue getting it in gear though.

Finally did the trans and diff exchange today. Took it around town and night and day difference! 2nd goes in so smooth now! Have my trip to GA tomorrow and last long trip like that when I got back into town even third was getting hesitant so we will see how that goes too. So far majorly impressed with how different it is already.
