I too was in this delima and decided to do the adult thing and dump nearly 20k into my ss (which is still down getting built) instead of updating my kitchen from 1984. I'm 31 and single though so said eff it, but guess what?

Had a date that I brought over and we both love to cook. I was soooo ashamed and half ass embarrassed at my dated kitchen (oh and I want new real Bamboo wood floors too for 800 sq ft of my house). If I had to do it all over again I would most definitely remod/update my house. Now I have to wait another 5-7 months until I can do my update. Yes it is a life lesson

My dilemma as well.. Casually mentioned to the wife we would remodel the guest bathroom very soon (and you guys know how the word SOON works). Then just last month we sprung a leak in the upstairs bathroom and had to totally do that one done ASAP.

Fast forward to this week (waiting on Camaro delivery any day) and she's insisting I "promised" to do the guest bathroom which is in absolute perfect condition except for a little out dated. WTH

So, demolition starts Monday, marble slab has been picked out and purchased and my mod money is taking a serious hit..

Plus side, that new ZL1 will make the home renovation sting less. Smiles per mile!

I got this from Amazon this week. Haven't gotten through it entirely yet, so far it's been a pretty good read. Pictures aren't bad either.

I find it interesting that there are only 5 silhouettes on the front cover but there are 6 generations. Not a complaint, just an observation. BTW, they're also on the hardcover as indentions.

My wife's starting to think I'm getting obsessed.

Yeah, thought about mentioning that but I figured those in the "know" would see that pretty quick.

I'm liking the general history of the GM power plants and such as well as the origins of the Camaro. Lots of word, but a LOT of pictures too.

At least I got the estimate last week for the new kitchen and floors as well as master bathroom. If all goes well I can pull half the cost out of my 401k and then drain my savings for the rest. Definitely no forged wheels or 6 piston fronts for the ss anytime soon :-( and yes being an adult really sucks guys when you have a tight budget.
