Camaro =great service at self service car wash

Hey I’m not sure if it has happened to you guys but I seem to get quite a few smiles and small conversations going on at the local self service car wash. I’ve been to these places off and on for the last 20 years but with the 5th gen is on another level. The car wash attendant and owners (older husband/wife) don’t hesitate to hand me a few free wash tokens if I have the slightest issue. They have sons or nephews who help out as well and last time 1 of the younger guys straight up said nice ride and gave me like $5 worth of tokens from his pocket and said you gotta keep her clean. I thanked him with a huge smile and that’s why I’m a loyal car wash customer at that location only.

I’ve had a number of different cars and trucks brought to these types of places but like I said before the camaro gets the most love without me even trying and I thought this was cool to share. Is it the same for anyone else and if so please share.

I don't use the car washes on any of my vehicles and leave it at that.

I have a pressure washer at home but don’t use it often. The car wash is great for me but the trick is to not use the foam brush on your ride otherwise you get swirl marks. I spray and use my own person microfiber hand mitt for scrubbing. Then high pressure soap gun, high pressure rinse and last high pressure wax gun.

Yes in a small suburban area called “el sobrante”. In the city of concord they have a great self service car wash. 5 or 6 bucks gives you 20 mins of time. I haven’t used it yet but I plan to at some point.

Yes. Same here. I have a pressure washer at home too. But by the time I get it out of the shed, then install all the hoses (unrolling that damn thing) and nozzle, and most times, having to get a gallon of gas, I am already pissed off before I even get started.

I know where El Sobrante is. Too far for me though.

I bought a Ryobi 110v pressure washer just for my car. That used with a foam gun means I dont touch my car when washing

I know for a fact Vallejo has a car wash for $6 bucks gives you 20 mins as well. You could probably yelp that and I know that’s much closer to your location. I’m quite sure its off Georgia st so that should help you to find it. I have the same hassle when getting it going for washing.

Mine is a 110v also and I have the foam cannon so technically I could be hands free but the hassle to access everything conveniently is what I’m lacking. Owning 5 rides , tools/ parts etc sometimes other things are just in the way. So I enjoy the 1 mile drive over and a clean cruise after is usually more enjoyable for now.

I don’t “high pressure” anything on the Camaro. The DD is another thing.

Well it’s basically like using a standard pressure washer. This thread went way left it was to speak about the joys and hookups you come across while washing the ride. I know for a fact many camaro owners use self service car wash and post pics on social media everyday.

Anyhow happy holidays to all my Camaro5 peeps. My ride is nice/clean and I’ll continue doing what I’ve been doing because it works. 👍🏽

I use the local self service car wash myself and love it. It takes card and has high pressure soap rinse and the low pressure soft water rinse as well as the high velocity air dryer hose. No touch and gets the car spotless.

Same here, i go to a car wash and let them use my personal stuff. Sometimes whenever am in the mood to wash a car i use my own pressure washer and foam cannon.
