you don't really need one presa, however you want to see how much boost your pushing, that's the only real benefit.

I just did the same swap...other than checking to see what boost the pulley's produce - little else.
I did add one to mine temporarily to confirm what I was seeing in HPTuners...initial readings return over 11 psi! Mine is stock LT4 pulleys as well...as well as everything else. Interesting you have a much lower number...

Mine spiked up to 11 psi on a Procharger P1X. But, we found the cats were clogged. Cut those out and now it's back down to where it should be 7-8 psi.

Isn't the stock LT4 setup on a LT1 different boost numbers because of the different Compression ratios?
Where the LT4 runs 7 psi and the LT1 runs much higher? |

cheeze9878: I believe the difference is combination of larger cam and higher compression of the LT1.
But I assumed the OP had an LT1 (install of LT4 blower) - I may assumed incorrectly though. He also has headers which will drop the boost number.

you can use the Torque pro app on a tablet or phone with a bluetooth obd2 device and scan most engine parameters including boost.

Would this boost reading/data be the same as on the cluster boost gauge in the ZL1? Wish it could be somehow enabled in the cluster of the SS as well (I.E instead of the Battery or Oil pressure gauges locations?). I understand that this requires a proper GM OE Firmware (file) adjustment in the ECM. None of the tuning suites made this possible so far (I.E. EFI-L nor HPT) |

No I don't think so but I agree it would be nice.
Here is a screen shot of the layout on my Torque App for reference.

nope. E content is the only one that requires a custom pid.
