The fuel pressure should go to 0 when the car is off because the fuel pump is off and not holding pressure on the lines. Unless there is some kind of inline check valve that would hold the pressure.

What fuel pressure regulator do you have? Could be an issue there though. Is it boost referenced? Could be a vacuum leak on your boost reference?

Its an Aeromotive regulator boost referenced off the intake manifold. I will get into that line tonight to make sure its good.

Just spoke with my tuner, thinking that maybe the fuel filter is clogged, seeing as my tank was out for 2 years just sitting on my garage floor while I was injured, had surgery, and recovery. The entire time there was still just a bit of fuel in there and I imagine E-85 cleaned that tank out real nice and the fuel filter was doing its job. I put fuel in it Friday on my way to work then after work it was choking out in all gears not just 4-6th. If it is something so simple I will be extremely happy.

I'm not an expert but I've heard this is normal behavior, GM set their fuel pressure so at a certain point it goes from 60 PSI down to 40, the good news is that recently the AFM can be re-programmed (I think with HP Tuners) to continue and provide 60 PSI under WOT/High RPM, then you can see if fuel pressure drops due to the pump not keeping up or some other problem.

Again, not an expert on this field so I could be mixing up terminology but I can relay what my mechanic told me when I asked him about that same pressure drop. (I'm getting my Procharger i1 swapped out for a D1SC this week).

Yeah threw in a new filter and pressure increased with boost as it should, car is still missing wildly. I really think the PCM in this mofo is smoked. Just started surging at idling and running extremely lean at idle, hard to start completely screwing up. Yet throwing zero codes

SO got the engine light working, thanks to another members thread, had to add a second fuse to my #15 fuse add a circuit. Now I am getting a P1682 code that wont clear car barely starts and struggles to idle.

So checking the voltage on Pin 19 and 47 the Ignition switch 1 circuit 2 circuits I need to reverify with a nice penetrating probe later today but I notice on pin 19 I have voltage with the key in run without the engine running but not with the engine running.

Is your Tach working or getting service Stabiltrak msg? Awhile back, Car was hard to start here after running forawhile. Starting missing. No Tach SS msg on. Shut it off. Hot day. Wouldn't start. Let it sit. Started up. Barely got it home. Next morning fine. Then happens again. Was ready to pull what last few hairs have left out. Long story Short. Battery was not holding charge even though it initially read OK. Making the ECU take Fits. Replaced Battery. Been good for months.

Battery is new, charged and checked it. I am thinking the loose ground issue messed with the PCM as it constantly gives me codes I am chasing down and eliminating the one common "possible issue" with all of them is bad pcm. Noticed now though when its running and idling all messed up that the vacuum which was normally at -16 is 4-8 so I am pulling the intake manifold and checking everything out fitting wise and hoses. Running the holley sniper low pro and its a piece of junk had to have it machined for fittings. Going to make sure all that is good then go back to my tuner if the issue continues and have the PCM swapped out to eliminate that. The only saving grace about the sniper intake is holley shipped me two for the price of one so I basically got it for free.

Found 5 bad intake seals, two of which you could plainly see had been leaking fuel under boost. I used FAST intake seals on the Holley intake as they seemed slightly more robust. Throwing the holley seals on and will see what happens.

Well after chasing my tail forever on this took to it my tuner who found no compression in cylinder 6 and a bent valve with a broken PRC EHT dual valve spring. Piston is good needs a new valve , guide and all new springs. Texas Speed PRC springs failed with around 8k miles on them.

Car is back up and going, had to replace all the screwed up stuff on the head, now picked up a decent amount as well. 808rhwp with the filter in place a 52rwhp pick up on a dream crusher mustang dyno. This is the same dyno the Unicorn C5, Sketchy Vert, and Beater Bomb use. The Shop Inc is a pretty awesome shop!

Glad Engine Damage wasn't worse than what it was, found the Issue(s) and back up and running.
