Snow Removal

The City of Spokane's stand on downtown snow removal:
MOST cities berm their snow and leave it to pile up, so we are no different than most cities.
One would have to try travel around downtown Spokane to appreciate that these berms stick so far out into intersections that you cannot see around them, and are so tall you can't see over them!
In residential areas on one day you must move your car to even numbered sides of the street so the plow can plow, and the next day you must park on odd numbered side so they can plow that side. Non compliance gets your car impounded and towed.
When I lived in Omaha they would actually remove the snow from downtown streets with dump trucks and huge snow blowers filling them.

In your city, does the snow get removed or bermed into the middle of the street, side of the street, and left? How well does your city handle snow removal?

Jeez, I woulda thought somewhere as far North as Washington would have a better plan in place for snow removal! Here they do just let it pile up on the side of the road, at least in the small towns. But, they remove snow from around the city square area or other areas where letting it pile up isn't an option. I'm fairly sure that in the downtown parts of Des Moines they truck it off somewhere else, I know I've seen trucks full of snow and very large snow piles around parking lots and unused lots of land.

Our snow ordnance we simply have to have our vehicles off the streets, though in my town most everyone has a garage or driveway.

Bermed on both sides. Parking lots just get mountains. Residential areas get "hope the driver isn't a retard cause the city don't care nor will they pay"..

So.. basic liability on a winter beater and park that 'special' car in the garage on jack stands with a trickle charger.

on all of the side streets they just throw it off the street up over the curb into everyones yard. (and the end of your driveway) Main streets get all the snow pushed to the middle, then a payloader with a big ass snow blower comes along and loads the snow on trucks where it is driven out of town.
