Dual-Mode Performance Exhaust??
Is it worth anything power wise?? How big of a difference is the sound?? Or is it 900 worth of fluff??

I love mine. It isn't annoying, but is definitely louder and better sounding than the standard exhaust. Makes the car sound like a muscle car.
I don't think it adds any real power though.

You are spending over $40K...what is $900? I figured it is a purchase I will live with for a LONG time...I loaded mine up with roof, NPP, Racarro, Nav, even body colored engine cover! Buying what I want up front so no buyer remorse or regrets!

yuck !! I wish I could get a base SS w NOTHING..no power ANYTHING...3500lbs and 426hp !!! HELLLLLL YEA !!!!...well you sorta can..it's just 100k and can't be registered!..lol I prefer less stuff ...less to break. I found a few sound clips and it sounds wayyyyyy better then a bone stock exhaust.

As someone who ordered NPP on my convertible and who is now struggling with exhaust decisions, I would say, if you are committed to a future headers/tune mod, save the $900 to put toward your ultimate exhaust. If you know you're going to stick with stock exhaust for a few years, indulge.

The stock exhaust is really tame. So if you want a nice sound, you'll likely spend $1500 or so to get an aftermarket exhaust.
on the vette, it added 6 hp. most people say it adds 5 hp or so. it was the "must have" option on my car. |

I would probably get it, but sometimes I wonder if it would be better to put the $900 towards an aftermarket cat back?

Can't argue with that. I just switched to the quad tips on my 2010... looks much more aggressive.

I love the way mine sounds and added headers last month and love it even more. To me there is only one exhaust that compares and it is WAY more expensive. I would suggest anybody that likes a muscle car sound to buy the Dual Mode.

Or you could do a muff delete ,and have that wonderful sound all the time for under $120.00.

Definitely not the same as a muffler delete. I deleted the mufflers on my 2011 SS and I regretted it. The sound of the dual mode with the flaps open is way better than muffler delete. The dual mode on my ZL1 (with headers and HF cats) sounds amazing with the exhaust open and closed. When I get my cam it will sound even better! I also have the Noweeds diverters for when I want to be obnoxious! |
