Personally, I was hoping for a 1SS based 1LE with an LS7 and weight savings.....2 out of 3 isn't bad I guess But as far as the carbon ceramic brakes???? I really don't see the point in making them standard on the Z28....make them an option like on the Z06.

It'd be amazing to see them offer the LS7 in a 1LE. Hell if I had the money, I'd order a new 1LE from one of the dealerships back east and have them install an LS7 to satisfy my happiness

It would be really nice if it was an option for the 1LE.

Agreed, the Z28 was supposed to be between the 1LE and ZL1,
Now it's a trailer queen. - GM, we needed another hot-rod, not an IMSA GTP Circuit entry model. Quote:

Cars can evolve without changing the core spirit of the car unless you believe the Camaro should be running a stick axle on leaf springs with a carbed, cast iron V8 with drum brakes. |

A high revving SB belongs in the Z/28 and that's what both the 1Gen and 5Gen have. The Z/28 is/was a roadracer. Yet performed great in the 1/4 mile as well. Those stats you put up don't tell the whole story as in rear gearing. You need to explore a little deeper. |

But if it comes in more expensive than the ZL1 and has brakes that are more expensive to replace than tires, the vast majority of people who will buy them are collectors who can afford to buy a car to simply add to their collection and rarely (if ever) drive it, or those truly "hard-core" track enthusiasts who probably trailer their cars to track events anyway. .....and that's a damn shame

I like what GM did with the new "z/28" or "z28" or "trailer queen". I pray GM understands and will fill the 1LE --- (154hp)--- ZL1 performance gap by splitting the difference with a LS7 ~505hp option. Maybe call it the 1LE Stage II...
I'd like to see a 1LE Option with an LS7... http://www.gmhightechperformance.com/features/0904gmhtp_427_ls7_2010_chevy_camaro_ss/

So would I...but a Gen-6 (-300lb vs. current 1LE) LT1-powered version will be the answer for us very patient folks...
