MB Quartz?
Is MB Quartz a good brand? Maybe not top of the line, but want to make sure they are not just crap either!
Thanks! |

good enough, imo
--midbass/midrange not as competitive as others(depending on level), but clean highs make up for it. |

*MB Quart.
They have history in the higher end market when speaking about the older german made stuff, but they sold the brand name to Maxxsonics in the early 2000's. They're manufactured along side Hifonics, Crunch, and Autotek. Which is to say, they're decent bang for your buck, but they aren't great. What type of sound product are you looking to buy (speakers/amp/sub)? There is most certainly better options for your money unless you are getting them free/cheap. |

Well I am looking at a set of 5 1/4 components, 6 1/4 2 ways, 2 10" square subs, 800w mono amp, and 1000w 4 channel amp all for just under $700.
Is there a better option than these in this price range? I am not looking for competition, but high quality sound is always a plus! |

I have a set of MB Quart QS216 in the doors of my camaro and they are pretty awesome i think, but the tweeters and crossovers are huge, so expect to spend extra time and money deciding how and where to mount them.

it all changed when sold to maxxsonics...they specialize in taking great names and them producing less expensive chinese type products - same with Dual and JBL..not the same as the names we grew up with....

Oh I'm not worried about that. I am doing a custom set up in my interior (molding in some rings with fiberglass).

Any suggestion on another brand that would be better quality around the same price range?

I look at things like speakers and such as things I buy ONCE and do it right. I don't feel like replacing...so I buy JL Audio. Until I can afford it, I don't buy....

What about Pioneer? I can get those even cheaper. I know they have good head units, but it has been a long time since I did any sort of audio upgrade in any of my cars so I am not sure on their speaker, sub and amp quality anymore.

If I were trying to do a competition system I would totaly agree with you on that! But this is literaly just for me. I like modifying just for the fun of doing it. I do not really care to spend $5-$7k on a this system as it is just for fun for me to listen to.
