Pat,
I have a Go Pro that I haven't really tried to use yet. How do you get the speed, RPM and throttle position to show on your video? That was pretty nifty.

Thanks to everyone who has sent payment through so far. Who is from Illinois, postcode ends XX430? you forgot to include a cross reference to your Camaro5 ID! let me know please...
Maybe in a couple of weeks I could think about doing a second batch, I'd like to concentrate on making sure everyone from this first 24 receives theirs and is happy with it first though. |

Manufacture update
Hi everyone,
So the first batch has been printed, I wanted to give you an update and let you know the next steps. The first pic is a close up showing how the parts come off the printer. The orientation of the part is considered, in order to get the best possible strength for the part. The additional support material is required, depending upon orientation, in order to prevent any sections being printed in "free space" and hence sagging or warping. The second picture is where I am at now, having mostly deflashed half the parts. Unfortunately it's quite a time consuming, manual process. Tomorrow when I get home from work I'll finish deflashing the rest and then the next stage will be press-fitting the threaded insert. Finally I want to personally fit each individual part onto my car and check I am 100% happy with the interaction with the sunvisor on all of them before I send them out to you guys I will keep you all updated.... |

Looks cool Pat to see how the printer works and thanks for showing the process. Looks like you got the 3D printer stuff down. I wouldn't have any clue how to use one without taking a training class..lol

Couldn't agree more.. NASA is now stating they can send a computer file to someone in space to just print a part/ object or build something right in space. Crazy to think when we were in high school they had just those green letter screen computers that looked like the Matrix scripts..

Is this PLA filament? Do you have an effective technique for deflashing? In the past i've just broken off the excess plastic by hand then use a razor on the rest.
Thanks for detailing the process |
