Lower rear Trailing Arm - Oil Residue

Hello There

I have been wondering about the ride characteristics of my 2013. Several times I have been under the car checking over the suspension. Last night, I was replacing the bumper diffuser, and noticed an oily residue on the passenger side lower control arm. I am wondering if I lost a shock.

Has anyone had a rear shock go bad and start leaking? Did the fluid just leak down the body of the shock?

I’m new to the zl1 world, but having read a lot over the past few months, this does seem to be a common occurrence.

A little seepage is to be expected. Once they start dripping replace them.

Had left front and right rear replaced a couple of years ago both had leakage down the side of the shock.
