You don’t prime the system per-say. The pump should always sit lower then the tank and therefore gravity feed. To test the system, the alky control kit has a test button and the led monitoring lights you mount separately will turn to green when the system has built pressure and is spraying as you hold the test button down. If you really want to check it, leave the intake tube with the nozzle installed off the car, power on the alky kit while the car is off and push the test button.

I’ve spoken with Alky and it was suggested to regularly test the system to ensure pump spraying and meth built up to the line. I do it whenever the car has not been driven for more than a day.
Turn car on. Let idle and temps to come up. Bring rpm up to about 1200-1500 rpm and press and hold the test button. The light should come up red, meaning it’s spraying and then it’ll turn green meaning full spray. At this point rpm should drop a bit. Then it’s done and primed. |

It was also recommended to have pumps rebuilt every 2 years. I’ll be sending mine every year and buy an extra while one is out for rebuild.

The first time you run it you're supposed to disconnect the line and hit the test button. Spray it into a bottle and you can pour it all back into the tank. This is to purge the air out of the lines.
I'll do this after the car sits for the winter too. Otherwise like mentioned above just rev it up a bit and hit test until you get a green light. Then you're gtg. |

I ran the AEM for over 3 years, never had a failure with it not spraying, however I would test it every time you plan on going to the track. Very easy to do as Juiced said, remove the line, put the hose in a water bottle and hit the test button or course with the ignition on to activate the system.
