Fog Light Install on my LS!

Finished my fog light install on my LS today...A bit of a pain, but well worth it, my night time field of vision is almost doubled!
ANYWAY, here's a few lessons learned:

1). Yep, the front bumper/fascia HAS to be removed, but you don't HAVE to take off the tires, although it makes things MUCH easier

2). Make sure to order the bezels ($15.00) unless you want to cut the existing bezels.

2). Be CAREFUL with the side panel lights. There's a gray clip that you have to unlock before the light panel slides out. I snapped a piece on the mount, but re-secured it with the screw

3). Since the LS comes without a fog light switch, the harness from GM parts will not work as is, I had to splice the fog light wires into the side panel marker lights, which is fine, just match up the hot and ground wires to the corresponding wires on the harness.

SO when the DRLs are on, the fogs are OFF, when the sun sets, the fogs and sides light up-Also you can manually activate them via the parking light position, which is what I wanted to do anyway..

All in all, not a bad Saturday project,it took me about 3 hours, most of that locating screws and fender snaps. Special THANKS to GM Parts direct and Jay Griffin for getting everything to me so fast and answering my questions!! IT LOOKS GREAT!!!!!

You are better than my dealer. He said it was not possible to put fogs in an LS.

Well, Jay at GM parts direct suggested I order the bezels too, that way there's no cutting and everything sort of snaps into place. Only $15.00 a piece...

Did you get factory fogs? If so do you have a p/n and how much were they? Also do you still have the p/n on the bezels?

wow...They don't simply make a kit from gmpp or something huh? My dealer also told me I cannot put fogs on a ls...I can put 1000w MH/HPS HID grow lights in there if I want, just wanted something plug&play...New cars without factory or aftermarket support yet, I guess?

TOO SKDREADS.... The hard plastic can be cut with a dremel. I didit and it took like 5 min to cut each one and i just bought a 30 dollar dremel. The fog light i installed where the Hella Low Beam Projectors that AAC sells and they fit just fine when you cut around the bezel.

I was thinking of doing the same thing to my LS, but I'm new at this kind of stuff. Sorry for the dumb questions.

I have not seen the wiring harness from GM, so is it just two wires with plugs on both ends and you just cut off the one plug and splice that into the side marker lights?

Did you have to order two harness?

Are the Hot and Ground wires different colors on the side marker lights?

Thanks!
