I agree, the base LT1 would not make enough power for a proper Z/28.

Good points, but there also isn't an auto trans on the ZR1 Vette, yet the ZL1 has it and it's faster.
ZR1 Vette and ZL1 Camaro have different engines, so your point would be?? And the ZL1 Camaro is faster than the ZR1 Vette?? What part of Disneyland do you reside in?

They would at a minimum have to install the ZL1 brakes.

I would be fine with the SS getting the LT1 in 2014 but my money is on the LS7 for this test mule. And who says we can't have both?

For all we know there could be most anything under that hood from a LS7, a new LT Vett DI engine, a TT V6, or just a bunch of hampsters.
True, speculation.

First of all, nice internet tough guy stance. Congratulations on acting like a typical internet punk w/ an attitude toward my post for no discernible reason. No decorum at all, just attack people while assuming you know exactly what people are talking about. No warning shots, just all out war w/out declaring first. Is that how it works for you dude?

The point I was making are both the ZR1 & the ZL1 are the top of the food chain as far as each model goes. The SS and the SS w/ the 1LE Performance Package have the same engine but you can only get the 1LE w/ a manual, so what is your point? I don't even know why I'm bothering to clarify my post for you since you never bothered to clarify what I meant before attacking my comment publicly. Maybe you should think a bit before making crude & classless comments dude. Guys like you just kill me, I bet you wouldn't have the nerve to speak to someone in person the way that you word your posts on an anonymous internet forum.

I also never said that the ZL1 was faster than the ZR1, Cylde. I said the auto is faster than the manual. Read it again before you jump to conclusions and down someones throat. I said "Good points, but there also isn't an auto trans on the ZR1 Vette, yet the ZL1 has it (an automatic trans) and it's faster (than the manual)."

Did I specifically spell out which model was which? No, I didn't. I also didn't say ZR1 Corvette and ZL1 Camaro. I foolishly thought most adults would be able to civilly discuss cars they're passionate about on an enthusiast auto forum w/out someone, such as yourself, coming along trying to disect my comments, trying to make me look like a fool in the process, for whatever unknown reason. Silly me, I suppose I won't make the same mistake again. Good work Cylde, you showed me, didn't you?

Show some respect and some tact before posting that kinda garbage.... or at least learn to ask a question about what someone means before you post replies. I don't know you from Adam, and I don't think I want to know you. Please don't come near my home in Disneyland, you aren't welcome as it's the happiest place on earth, whereas you are the angriest person on the internet.

If we hadn't seen the vin card I don't think these photos would mean much, but together they could be adding up to something special. If this is as far as this car is actually developed and they're not just changing the appearance for concealment, then whatever this is will most likely not be introduced at the beginning of the 2014 model year. It would have to be considerably cheaper than a ZL1 for me to even consider waiting for it. If we hadn't had the "V-8 sound" comment thrown in, my guess would have been V-6 track pack as well, which I think should still make production. Also I think the lack of the ZL1/1LE/SSX wheels is a good sign for the LS7 argument. A car with a powerplant that significant should have it's own wheels, a never before seen design.

How many employees does KGP photography have? They would have to have a ton to always be in the right place at the right time with these "spy" photos. They are obviously paid by GM to take these photos and distribute them to different media outlets.

My bet is this is not any kind of test car bust just a modded '10-'12 V6.
That grille is not available as an aftermarket part. It's exactly the same one on the original test mules. Probability tells us that it must be a GM-owned vehicle.

I would be happy to see a Z28 powered by the LS7. That would make me very happy. Time will tell.

I would like a V6FI more than any other powerplant as an addition to the Camaro. It gives the Camaro a new market to conquer that is run by import brands today. GM has a deep history with force-fed engines, including supercharged Grand Nationals and even a GMPP kit for a supercharger bolt-on to the old Cavalier. GM knows forced induction, and I'd love to see it taken seriously in the Camaro on multiple levels.

I'm going to guess and say b/c it's much more fun assuming the LS7 than it is a return of The Iron Duke.
