Solo Mach XL quiet?
I have been listening to 100s of youtube clips of exhaust systems now. I have a L99 and I will try to keep the AFM. I really want to like the Solo because everyone here seems to love it and its cheap, but it sounds soo quiet in all clips. Is it my crappy laptop speakers that fool me or is corsa considerably louder? Solo sounds much smoother which I don't mind but I don't want to spend $800 on something that still is too quiet.

Exhaust sound preference is very subjective. I had a Corsa cat back on my G8 GXP and really liked it. However, I just orderd the Solo Mach X for my Camaro.
Hopefully I will install it next weekend and will find out what it sounds like. I don't like real loud, but do like a nice deep tone. Will post my opinion when I get it on and get a few miles on it.

It is really not that loud but it is noticeably louder than stock during acceleration. Normal driving is very tame.It's been said the sound is exotic...I think I agree. So far I like it.

That Borla ATAK won't be quiet...... LOL.
My magnaflow cat-back was too quiet. I cut out the resonated x-pipe and put in a true x-pipe. It's perfect now, for me that is. Loud on start up, don't even notice during normal driving, and loud at wot. |

I have had the mach xl on for a couple weeks now, and it isn't loud like some of the aftermarket exhausts. It does have a deeper sound than stock and moreso when you get on it a bit. I would like for it to be a tad louder, but overall I'm happy. I didn't want something that was gonna blow the neighbors windows out just something that sounded like it had some balls.
*edit* I do notice a bit of a drone between 1800-2000 rpm but not annoying enough for me to have emailed them about it yet. With the stereo up its not a problem, but trying to hold a conversation with someone with it going could suck. |
