Rear Deck Rattle (annoying)

Whenever I am traveling highway speeds or at least around the 45-50 mark in a cruising gear (5th or 6th) my rear deck has this annoying CONSTANT rattle. It isn't just over bumps or expansions it is ALL the time. I also noticed that it happens when a song w/ lots of bass hits the rear speakers. Obviously something is loose, but can not figure out where it is coming from. I thought at first it might be where the rear folding seat latches back in place but it is not. I am going to have the dealership look at it eventually, just looking for ideas I can suggest to the dealer so I don't get this line:

"We couldn't get it to make that noise, sir!"

UGH

Maybe a spoiler bolt came loose. Happened a lot with the early 2010's.

There is a rattle issue that was talked about and found the problem, do a search in the general forums. Something with a part getting reworked on the SS but main thing it's under warranty and no cost to you.

Send a message via MSN to Scott@Bjorn3D
There is also a TSB out for this and they put more foam between the joints of the rear deck to get rid of the rattle.

I'm not sure about that. I replaced my spoiler with an aftermarket one, made sure everything was snug and it still rattles.

I had a spoiler bolt in the trunk lid even though I never lost a spoiler screw. Occasionally on the assembly line a screw gets lost, you still get all the screw you need attached the spoiler but the lost one ends up rattling in the trunk lid. My dealer had to fish it out with a magnet.

Yes, if anyone has a link to this TSB i'd like it please! The dealer I go to is pretty far away so i want to make sure it's worth the trip. In terms of the spoiler is there any way for me to tell with hand tools? In other words is the bolt in question visible to check the tightness?

Open the trunk, and there are 4 black plugs there under the spoiler.
They a flexible rubber, and you can pull them out to see if any of your nuts have came off, or are loose.

Thanks, Roger

Its the rear speakers, mine have been loose for a while now, if you have dealerships like me your screwed! They will tell you its operating as designed, but if you have a good dealership they will remove the rear speakers and put weather stripping under them to tighten them down and the rattle is gone. Next song with bass you play, pop the trunk and grab the bottom of the speakers, if the rattle goes away thats your problem.

I'm having this problem now as well. Just called my dealership and it seems like they've heard of this problem before. I'll let you guys know the outcome.
