The C6 Z06 was 19 seconds faster around the Nurburgring than the ZL1 was. I could envision the new one Z06 to be 10 seconds faster. I realize that the ZL1 has 4 seats, but if you don't need them, who cares?

Then it was 15 seconds faster than the z28 which was 4 seconds faster and 20 thousand more in price than the zl1. To me the Z06 at 90 grand is no bargain. It performs the way a 90 thousand dollar supercar should. The zl1 surprises at it's price and weight and that makes it an exceptional performer

Sit in a Stingray before deciding. They are a very tight fit. Dealer told me about a guy who was going to trade in his C5 for a C7. Came in to do the deal and when he sat in it he got really depressed. Wound up buying a C6GS.

To me the only question is do you have the $50k and do you want to drop it. The C7Z will be soooooo much more car than a ZL1. At 578 rwhp my ZL1 feels slow compared to my old C6Z that had 505 rwhp. I will get a C7Z but likely used so probably 2017.

Z06 all the way. Performance of the ne2 Z06 should be equal to the ZR1!
If you can afford it. I would guess more like 55-60k in difference, out the door. Taxes on 90k is alot! Tony

I went in to buy a Stingray and that is why I bought my ZL1. It was too hard on my knees getting in and out and it is cramped inside. If you make long road trips and have a co-pilot at least in the Z you can spread out a little. |

Base z06 is 79 not 76k. Add some modest options and taxes and you're sitting at 95k. I wouldn't argue that the Z06 would handily beat the Zl1 at the track, but then at 30k more it should

Never thought of that. I'll be heading to dealer tomorrow. I'm pretty sure they have one or two stingrays. Have to see how I fit.

Love the ZL1, but man oh man is the Z06 going to be badass! I have two kids so I'm keeping my Camaro, but I've seriously been thinking about the Z06. I'm not a huge fan of the normal Stingray, but the Z06 looks so much cooler. Hard to beat!

I would buy the Z06 in a heartbeat. At 6'3 no way to feel comfortable in it.
Also no way to sit in there with a helmet. |

You're going to argue over $3k? I was basing the price on the last model, as I wasn't sure how much the new one was, other than GM saying it wouldn't be much more than the C6 version. $76k or $79k you get the point. You don't need options on this car, at least I wouldnt.

Interior room is really the only issue with the c7. I'm 23 years old, 6ft, 170pounds and getting in and out is a pain in the ass.. couldn't imagine being any bigger or 20 years older hopping in and out of that thing

Having said that, the new Z06, I'd comp on not having the back seat. But, I'll wait a year or two before I buy one.
