2010 v6 0-60 with 3.73 gears

I have been trying to look everywhere for this but all that I've found is that it takes about .2 off the quarter mile. Anyone know what the 0-60 times are with 3.73 gearing?

Nobody knows forsure....at least as far as the V6 community here is concerned, noone that has the 3.37s installed in a manual V6 has responded with a good comparison between their stock gearing and the new set.

One guy that has them installed also has his V6 turbo'd, so he wouldn't be a good one to use for an estimate with all that extra power.

I'm fairly certain they would make a nice improvement in 0 - 60 and the quarter mile....I know I've seen some 2011 mustang V6ers with lower gearing run low 13 quarter mile times so can't see why it wouldn't help the Camaro do well also.

Automatics can't get these by the way...V6 manual shares the SS rear end enough that it can opt for whatever gears the SS cars can get, but the only aftermarket option for the autos is a 3.55 set from Richmond.

I saw you posted in the transmission section in a thread concerning V6 gearing...keep your eyes on that one.

Is there a reason an auto V6 couldn't swap the entire rear end if they chose to? It seems to me the parts for car A should fit car B if the base frame and structure is the same.

That's what I'm hoping to do in a few years. Of course by then they may make them for the non-posi rear. But I want the positraction, so I'm just going to swap if it's possible.

Just grab a rear case from a wrecked SS, take it to my local gear specialist and have them rebuild with the 3.73's. I figure by late 2012, early 2013 there should be a few available.

You guys think the extra 40lbs of torque equate to -.2 off the 0-60

Maybe even more. Its a dramatic difference on accel. I went from 3.36 to 3.73 on a car along time ago and you can really feel it.And that was a 4 BANGER.

you're not only gaining torque, you're also getting to the meat of the v6 powerband a lot faster...

Purely a guess but in 1/4 I would guess 13.7 and up and 0-60 low to mid 5 but again its just a pure guess

Also interested in this, I'd love to have a posi in the back so my friends would stop pointing out my "One wheel wonders"

You are gaining a 15% mechanical torque improvement that is equal to approximately 40.95 rear wheel lb.-ft. of torque. You are correct that it will do nothing for your bragging right on the dyno but that doesn't matter when the rubber meets the road.

Im assumming that torque wouldn't show on the dyno? Has anybody hit it into the high 4's without turbo? I'm gonna try to pull out as much power as I can from this V6 in the upcoming months

I asked in another thread, but got no response. Can the dealer calibrate the speedo, without the tune? My warranty is already gone anyway.
