Forgot to mention LS3 M6
Thanks
You're probably pretty close if you go to a big shop. Mine was done by a dealer and was only slightly more than that including all the supporting parts, new plug wires, oil, and dyno time for the tune.

The $200 is NOT a shop price. That is just a guy who knows what he is doing that does it on the side. Shop price should be more like $400-$500.

Shop here charges $72/hr for shop labor. They estimated 4 hours just to drop the eng & trans then 7 hours install time for all the parts and 4 hours to put it back in. (15hrs)... They told me right @ about $1,080 for labor + $$ for dyno & tune.

Granted it is A6 and needs Torque converter with a Cam installed and I'm having all 16 lifters replaced along with pushrods & springs & timing chain/gear.
That's completely different. You don't have to pull the engine out for just a cam install.

Just to give you an idea, I was qouted by 3 fairly well known "camaro/vette" shops locally, and they were $2500.00,$2700.00,and $2900.00 all have done lots of cams.

IN NY I wouldn't use anyone but ECS. East Coast Superchargers. They are great guys and know these cars upside down.

Devil Cam Package, Underdrive Pulley, and some maintenance. Should come in right around 3k. Give them a call and talk to them they will put together a package that fits your budget. Great guys.

What is a "rough idle" cam? That sounds like a question a school kid would ask.

You tell the folks you are buying the cam from your car's specs and current/future mods. They then sell you a PROPER cam based upon that information. Whether or not the camshaft has a rough idle has NO bearing on what your camshaft needs are. They sell you the BEST cam for your situation.

If it doesn't idle rough enough for you...pull a spark plug wire and drive it so you sound cool.

You will get differant prices depending on the area, Nothern Va high cost to do business move out to the surronding areas prices go down.

You are in the ball park Install $1150.
oil $67.89 syn
tune $550.00
coolant $47.97
cam kit $799.80
total $2615.66

Give or take here and their with differant gaskets or other fluids or shop supplies, Id say a couple more dollars your good to go.

My other suggestions is use a well know good LSX shop in the area, Shop not to far away from you Call Fran at Rpm, they should be able to get you hooked up. Or if you like to make the trip give us a call we can also take good care of you .

Or if you just need help or question on your build let us Know

That is the name of the cam spec'd and sold by JRE.

To the OP, that sounds reasonable to me. I also have an M6 and was quoted anywhere from $1800 to $2400 for all parts, labor, tune, etc. Good luck with your choice, and choose a reliable installer with a GREAT tuner, and not just the cheapest option.
