What is the difference between the '13 rear deck lid and the '14 rear deck?
I was planning to purchase a 2013 SS2 and install the GM high rise wing, but it's looking like finances and supply are going to force me to pick up a 2014 instead. I'm trying to figure out if I can still get the wing installed and what sort of custom work it will require. The wing says it only works through 2013, and the parts for the '13 rear deck and '14 rear deck have different part numbers, but they look almost identical to me.
Can anyone tell me the difference between the rear decks, and if there's any reason this wing may be unmountable on a '14? |

Not sure about the wing, but maybe this will help you visualize the differences. Clear differences in the topside shape
(thus refresh/pre-refresh differences in spoilers). Tail light contour differs also. Swaps between 10-13 & 14-15 with the rear bumper and tail lights replacement. I don't think you need to do the quarters... |

I see now; the '14 clearly has a "fwoop" from that picture.
Are the outer dimensions the same? Is it possible to swap a '13 deck lid onto a '14? I'm guessing the answer is 'no' based on those photos, but I'm hoping that's just a perspective thing. |

The OEM Chevy high spoiler for the 2014 SS that is direct bolt-on to the 2014 trunk is the Z28 spoiler (with a Chevy wickerbill optional that bolt on to spoiler lip).
Have you considered this? Official Chevy Z28 spoiler i picked up brand new for $125 - if patient bargains are out there. Chevy also makes the Z28 spoiler in OEM factory body colors or black for 2014 and 2015 Camaro. The second photo is factory painted official Z28 spoiler mounted on my 2014 trunk which is a direct bolt on. Notice the entire spoiler and Wing Tips exactly follow body contours. 15 minute install if no paint rubbed off under the old spoiler.

I did see that, and a number of others like it. My tastes have always run contrary to the mainstream, it seems. I much prefer a "wing" type of spoiler. The one I linked is absolutely perfect in my opinion; it reminds me a lot of my first car, a '91 Z28. Unfortunately, it's the only one I've ever found for either the '10-'13 or '14-'15 model years.
