by pulls i guess you mean a roll race. am sure there is a problem with that mustang or something is wrong.

torque will win you the hit not the race.

If torque will win you races then never line up against a diesel powered car.

Lmao .. that’s why diesels are some of the fastest 1/4 mile cars around right ? If not the fastest

Here’s perfect example

Looks to me the demon won the launch .. torque sure helped that truck catch up.. or was it horsepower ?

I guess it goes to show dyno numbers don’t mean everything. My car is about 200lbs heavier. I do 154mph in 4th gear. I hear about coyotes trapping 118-120 with his mods. I don’t understand it. He went to an extremely reputable tuner in a nj called jdm
Very easy to explain, Hp is how much work it will do. Tq is how fast it will do it. Another thing to consider is Mustang by design are slow LOL.

It is interesting how the dynamics of horsepower, torque, weight, and even gearing work. I can run neck and neck in the 1/4 mile between my 87 GN V6 and my 13 Camaro 2SS. One a 4 speed automatic the other is the 6 speed auto. Both are low 13s cars both are near stock mods. The rwhp difference on the last dyno was around 210rwh GN to the Camaro 350rwh.

autos have more parasitic losses on the dyno. Watch out on the strip though; He has an advantage.

I found that entire video a while back. A very enjoyable 10 min clip from the '68 NHRA nationals. When I was a kid Da Grump was Da Man! No rev limiters, no electronic "rev matching" just pure physical and mental talent. Miss a shift and you'll be elbows deep in Big-Block parts that evening. Ah, the good ol' days. Open face helmet and a big stogie while turning 11s in a 396 Camaro.
