The dreaded "Check Engine" Light...2012 1LS
I have only owned this car 3 months and today got my first "check engine" indicator on a 2012 Camaro 1LS, 6 cyl, 6 spd manual. The car seems to run just fine. I hate to take it to the dealer and get charged $125 for them to reset it. Anyone have any ideas about this?

Stop by Auto Bones (Auto Zone), or any other "fast food" type auto parts store. They can usually hook up to your cars OBD and tell you what code has been set and I think they will clear it for you. You may have a sensor or component going bad. By the way, this is the ZL1 section of the forum. You'll get more responses if you post in the general discussion or V6 section.

CEL is only "required" to illuminate with emissions related problems, start there. There
is no way on Earth anyone can help you without codes. Go to Walmart and buy a cheap $20.00 code reader. |
