Front camera - ok to connect to onstar fuse (not always on)??

Hi all,

Installed my front camera. Wanted to use an add a fuse but very few locations will allow for it to fit without hitting a larger fuse. Looks like the onstar fuse worked fine. Any reason not to use it? It shuts off with the car, correct?

Thanks!

If no one can answer this, just wire a switch in-line on that circuit. Not the best solution, but better than a dead battery. Most people tie into the dome light wire. I have my front camera, a separate switch for my subwoofer, and even had footwell lighting all on this same circuit. Either way, you will have to run power wire up to the camera.

Thanks for the response. This is actually a front camera a placed in my grill. I found a way to bend my add a fuse in to connect to the f17 fuse, which I read is not always on. Thanks!

Could you post a photo? This would help out future modders on this forum. Thanks.

Yea I would like to see that. I'm going to be doing the same thing in about a week.
