LT4 porting - Supercharger - please school me.

Hi all

Just about to start the install on all the parts in my sig, but have a question about porting the supercharger - What exactly is smoothed? And will there still be benefits to porting the Snout only, if you're running a standard sized (albeit already ported ) throttle body?

So the path is: Rotofab - TM ported throttlebody - LT4 (with 2.3" upper and ported NX Lid + Water/meth injection) - TSP 1 7/8" longtubes (no cats).

Would appreciate your advice and opinion

Porting only the snout will not likely net as much of an increase as the whole (when I say whole, I mean snout and front section). There are multiple tests showing considerable gains, and if you're sending the snout, sending the whole blower will be worth it, IMO. You gain more efficiency which lowers temperatures so you can run more timing. The blower is just fighting itself less.

IMO - if you're going to port the snout, I'd port the whole. You'll probably stand to gain 40-60 RWHP with the set-up you're going with and making the blower more efficient will maximize your pulley selection even more. That pulley is going to be making more heat, so the more efficient that blower is, the less heat, more advance, and more power you'll make.

Na.. the most important thing is to open the area in front of the rotor pack and clean the diverter area.. That's where the bottle neck is! ck out the pics.. smoothing the snout adds minimal and does let you run a larger TB though I guess it all helps.. but look at this difference!

This is why the maggi 2650 has the edge its nothing to do with brick performance its all this area, the velocity and volume is increased and in return it lowers the temps making the blower more efficient making more power with smaller pulley combos hence being able to turn the bower slower speeds to make the same power if not more!

The oem LT4 same principal

full tilt porting should net 45 hp gain on a 2650 100 hp an this make the eforce equal to if not better than the maggi especially when you factor the use of port injection capability for fueling!
