93 shell v power all the way.... just my personal choice and preference but i won't put anything less in my baby, and with proven dyno results if i pull up to another v6 on regular gas and we would be dead even. I'm betting on my high octane to make the difference :P Plus with stories of knocking on lower octane in other cars and fuel burning cleaner i'm trying to make my baby last and if its only $5 more for a whole tank of premium then its well worth it to preserve her

I only use 93 and I can definately feel the difference. If gas hits 5 bucks I'll have to slum it for a while but I'll miss the 93.

Yes there is. Recommended is 87 or higher. It also references and recommends the use of gasoline advertised as Top Tier Detergent Gasoline.
This is found on page 9-49 of the 2013 owner's manual. For those of you who do not have an owners manual handy, all Chevy owners manuals from 2008 forward can be accessed at the following link. http://www.chevrolet.com/owners/chevy-manuals.html Top Tier information can be found here: www.toptiergas.com |

Regular. I've used both. Premium in a V6 is a waste of money.

First of all. Premium is the ONLY thing that has EVER graced the engine on EVERY vehicle I have ever owned. Secondly, something I have yet to see on ANY of the gas debates is WHERE you get the fuel from. AS some of you may/may not know. The octane isn't the ONLY thing important thing in the fuel. There are additives company's have in their fuel. i.e. Shell V-Power , Chevron Techron, etc. These too play a vital role in the gas. Do your research. I personally ONLY purchase fuel from Chevron and Exxon. AS suggested by my master Tech (43 years of experience)

as a new 2015 lfx owner i have heard many conflicting things.. iv'e always used 91 in mine for the last month since i have bought it then someone told me the motor is only tuned for 87 and putting 91 or higher in won't do anything unless you do a fuse pull with 91 in and let it set then the computer will change is this true ?

The fuse pull is for the V8 Cars, on Page 8-44 the Camaro Book Reads"If the vehicle has the 3.6L V6 engine(VIN Code V), use regular unleaded gasoline with a posted octane rating of 87 or higher." The engine is tuned for 87, what that means is if the engine detects knocking it "The Computer" retards the timing until it does not detect anymore Knocking. 91 octane or 93 helps reduce the knocking therefore reducing the retarding of the timing. that is the bottom line. 91 nor 93 is going to get more power.
