I would think if you just scuffed it up lightly it should still have the textured look. Don't foget sealer,paint with addtive and yes it just adds to the paint,then clear.

This is only a few months old so I'm not necro-threading...

Any thoughts on getting some paint mixed w/ a little high temp and then brushing it on with a sharp brush? I'm thinking of doing the "ribs" on my whipple in VR to match the car. I have an artistic friend with a hand much more steady than mine.

slightly off topic, but if i had a mustang, i would sooo get this blower from magnacharger. that blue is amazing looking
