Oil life?

So as I got into my car yesterday I was scrolling through the dash information and my oil life is showing 6%. Normally this wouldn't be a concern, however, I has only been 2000 miles since my last full synthetic oil change. Before you ask, YES the oil life gauge was reset after service. So the question remains, what could cause it to read 6% from 100% after only 2000 miles. I'd also like to add, it's also only reading 13.4 mpg. Ideas?

Couple of months since the oil change, the mileage is split between city and hwy. oil level is directly on the full line.

I should also add, my last oil change was right at the 5000 mile mark and I didn't encounter this problem

If you are driving it hard or just letting it idle, then that would explain why. It's not just based on mileage, but other factors as well hence the 5k-7k change intervals as opposed to the 3months/3k.

If the oil looks clean and it's full I'd let her bump and just keep an eye on it

Well, at any rate I've got it scheduled Tuesday morning at the dealership for a total "bumper to bumper" check up. If there's an issue they'll find it and fix it on their dime

Asphalt,

Yeah have the service tech check it out....Perhaps it could be a computer malfunction in your software or something like that.

In my Camaro it takes me almost a year just to get my OLM down to 20% the way I drive.
