Kicker ZX1000.1 Vs JL 1000/1

So which amp the jl1000.1 or the kicker zx 1000.1 would be the best choice when it comes down to a quality amp? Is the JL actually worth the extra money? I am debating over these two amps. I would more than likely have these two amps on two Jl 12w6's.

Biggest difference between amps besides that the JL Amps have a faster switching rate is that the 1000/1 has what is call RIPS it is a built in power supply that no matter what ohm load from 4 to 1.5 ohm you run at it it will do 1000 watts, and no matter the voltage in the car it will do 1000 watts, kicker on the other hand does not have this so if you run at 4 ohms it will only do about 500 watts, it you run at 2 ohms it will do 1000 watts and it can not run at 1 ohm, also depending on the voltage of the car kicker amps are rated 1000 watts and 14.4 volts which your car should be running at while driving with the alternator turning at 1500 rpms. If you have your car off or have a weak batter any only getting say 13.5 volts to the amp it will only do about 700 watts. For the money they both are very good amps just JL has more features and controllability. You can fine tune the system with it when kicker does not have the control, but also the JL is more expensive.

So it really all depends on what you want out of your system, but if it was me and having w6 I would run the 1000/1 it is ment for those subs and will do a good job on them.

+1 There are not many people who know and understand the technology behind the JL amps. Also JL amps are more sound quality than kicker.
