royl purple oil use or not to use
I love royal purple oil and have used in my last car a 1996 impala ss which I got rid of at 150,000 miles and when the new owner took the engine apart he could not believe how clean everything was.
Royal purple states on their website they will cover any damage to your car if it is proven that their oil caused it. What are the chances of the right viscosity oil hurting the car. Royal has a higher amount of protection additives in the oil and that's why its not gm approved. additives can potentially ruin a cat!! sounds crazy to me that a properly working engine would send oil to the cat any thoughts on this matter? i'd rather ruin a cat than my engine. should go ahead and use what many see as the best oil you can buy? |

Change to RP. It's an excellent oil that has been tested and proven. If your cats go in 10 years you can replace them with longtubes with high flows. lol But you wont even have to worry about that. RP will help the engine stay in good shape longer than other oils so by the time it might begin to have an effect it will have 200,000 miles on it.

RP's a good product, but I wouldn't put much weight behind that warranty claim... how would anyone ever prove something like that?
