So the wife puts a wrench to the 2SS purchase

Narrowed down to IBM or VR with White Stripes IBM with White or SIM Stripes. We pull in to a gas station this morning and she spots a Black LT
and now says she wants Black. Love Black but imho the upkeep is much more. She drives a manual too so the idea of being only my toy doesn't fly.Now what? LOL

I have always heard the 'Black is too hard to keep clean' thing, and yet I have people all the time ask me how I keep it so clean........

I wash it.

It's not that hard. I even drive it in the rain.

Sounds like my wife. We went round and round on exterior color choices. She finally settled on yellow with cyber gray stripes, but wanted the gray interior no question there. I wanted the RJT with black interior. So once we went yellow (you know how that goes, fellas), then I found out the TE package was coming for a nominal price, so ~I~ opted for that for just a net couple hundred more once you took away the cyber gray stripe package. Figured if she got her yellow, I'd get the little add on package to make it a bit more unique.

Have had black cars in the past and yes black can show ever little imperfection smear swirl mark etc compared to other colors but it sure does look mean when clean.

Same here....and i actually like the added TLC involved in having a black car. However, i'm lucky to have a parking garage at home and at work so she spends more time inside than out....so no sun fade.

talk to her.....SHOW HER what it looks like when only washed.....and not taken care of like you KNOW it needs to be....and don't let her say "I'll take care of it" YA RIGHT, like thjat is goinjg to happen...not that she can't, but do you think she will put into what it will take? I am guiessing NOT. gently persuade her towards your color choices.

Try this.....get all the supplies needed to do a full; detail job, including claying the car.....do this to your current ride so she KNOWS how much work it is....she just might change her mind, or at least leave it up to you.
