Can you still get a custom tune with an SCT SF3 tuner
Just wondering If I bought the SF3 and was able to do some tweaking of my own could I still have JRE send me a custom tune or would I have to buy the blank X3 to get a custom tune.

I figured that the only reason I would do that is I have an 04 tahoe which I'm pretty sure is supported by the sf3 I could use the canned tunes on it while my car is in the garage during winter and then switch back during summer

Even though the x3 comes blank can you still make user adjustments because if I can do that I could just make my own adjustments for the tahoe and still have a custom tune stored on it from Ted for my camaro

The SF3 does have space for 3 custom tunes in addition to the preloaded files. However, for what your planning on doing you would be best to purchase two separate devices. The device will marry to the vehicle on which it is installed, and cannot be installed on another vehicle until the original is returned to stock. Changing between vehicles will remove an unlock and the device comes with 5, so it is very easy to run out of unlocks when changing between 2 vehicles. At which point the device would have to come back to us and there is a $65 charge to reset the changes on the device.
As for the X3, without a custom tune installed on it, there is nothing that you can do with the device. |
