Oil leak near front passenger wheel? Do bushings have oil?

Found a drop of oil on garage floor. Put car up on jacks and found oil coming from front wheel control arm bushing.

Anyone change these before or have a DIY?

No oil in there....you can replace the inserts that are in there with solid or delrin from JPSS, but not sure what you have leaking out of there....Just got out from under there or I'd check and see if there is a grease fitting. don't think there is....

It didn't think a camaro had hydraulic bushings, but there is clear oil coming out of somewhere. The bushing just started leaking about a drop every 2 week. It's not coming from anywhere else. Totally dry above and around.

Does anyone know if Z/28 radius arm will fit V6. The arm w/bushing is only $69.

The motor mounts have fluid in them. Check them out.

That is the radius rod bushing and it does indeed have oil in it (sound/vibration dampening). I believe you have to replace the whole bushing + arm combo, or buy an aftermarket bushing and push out the old one (more work, but if you're looking to make an improvement over stock... ).

Thank you, the Control arms (Radius) do have oil in it! I thought I was going crazy.

At $69 bucks for arm/bushing, I will put in Z28 Radius arm if fits and doesn't squeak, rattle, etc.

The Z28 arm would be an upgrade to the original, although if you're willing to spend a few more bucks you could buy the original arm (or whatever's cheaper) and then get yourself some bushing inserts (such as from JPSS) - these inserts are even bigger/harder than the Z28 ones and thus will provide even more control/stability when accelerating/braking/cornering hard.

Can I remove radius arm bolt with wrench or do I need special tool to hold other end?

Grab the end of the stud with ?...can't tell, is it square? That's what it's for anyway. Vice grips in a pinch.

Wrenches/ratchet for the inside, where leak is; the outside at the knuckle is a ball-joint and so will need a ball-joint separator tool like a fork which can be rented (or bought) for fairly cheap.

Did you add the pink arrow and dot or is that on the car?

No need for a ball joint tool just take the but off and whack the knuckle with a hammer a few times it will fall out

Groovy. Last time I tried to remove a ball-joint it wasn't that easy, but good to know
