2010 V6 compared to 2013 V6

http://www.zeroto60times.com/Chevrol...mph-Times.html

2010 Chevrolet Camaro (V6) 0-60 mph 6.0 Quarter mile 14.3

I can't seem to find the 2013 0-60 and Quarter mile time. I know the LFX engine pushes out 323 HP when the 2010 pushes out 305 HP ? So does anyone know if there is a huge gap between the two? if they were to race would it be neck to neck?

In a 1/4 mile, torque is more important than HP (if HP is fairly close). What's the torque comparison?

2010 V6: Power (SAE): 304 hp @ 6,400 rpm; 273 ft lb of torque @ 5,200 rpm

312 HP ?

I believe GM upped the HP on the 2010 to 312 a few months after its release.

This is for the 2014, which should be the same as a 2013, I'd guess. Specs are in tiny print on page 15.

The 2010 was advertised at 304 hp, but actually made 312 (see below).

There would be minimal difference in performance between an LLT Camaro & and LFX Camaro. If there were no other changes, the extra 11 hp might net you about a tenth in the 1/4. But there has been some equipment added over the years, and the added weight probably negates most of that power advantage.

The LLT was not SAE certified in the Camaro for 2010. They borrowed the CTS rating of 304, knowing that it made more. It was rated in for the 2011 model year at 312 but there were 0 changes made. All 2010s & 2011s actually make the same 312 hp.

This, and the LLT made the same 278TQ as the LFX does. The difference is that the LFX peak torque is a bit earlier in the rpm range.

Doesn't quite matter where the engines make their peak torque, there's a bandwidth of several hundred RPM where its only a few ft-lbs off its peak value. That said, the LFX does have a flatter torque curve than the LLT does, improving its midrange & top end power a hair. But the two are going to be within a few percent through the entire RPM range.

That's interesting. Makes me think the NPP exhaust and electric power steering could indeed have made a relevant difference for the V-8, but GM is just didn't bother re-certifying the engine.

The cars are too close together. It would be a drivers race....

Best reaction time off the starting line wins. Period.
