Z/28 parts on ZL1

Walking around the GM booth at SEMA had me thinking...

I wonder how much improvement in HP the 2.75" Z28 exhaust is over the stock ZL1 version (I think it's 2.5" tubes).

What would have to be done to adapt the Z28 intake onto the ZL1?

Mid pipes? I doubt much. Most after market catbacks are 3" and a catback isn't much in the way of performance gains.

I was wondering the same thing since my dealer service rep showed me yesterday, while they had the car on the rack for oil change, that I have a leaky welds on my mid pipes on the exhaust system.

Z/28 has an option for a 3" catback system from the factory. It's on the bottom right hand corner of the Z/28 performance accessories stand at the GM booth

Why bother with the intake when we have a proven product in the name of Rotofab?

What am I missing?

Will the rear spoiler on the Z28 fit on the ZL1?

It will fit a 2014 ZL1, it won't fit any of the earlier trunk lids.

That thing is made of some kind a plastic or other easy to trim material , so I think that it can be easily modified to fit

+1 and why bother with the exhaust when you can get a better after market 3" catback for cheaper then the GM z/28 one

I guess it's just something about having one with a GM part number. I guess I'm picky that way.

It's just an option for us few who first would like to bring the driver up to par (driver mod) with the cars capabilities first while maybe keeping the warranty a little longer before diving into mods that improve the cars performance at the cost of said warranty.

Besides, we all have been asking for factory performance parts and stage kits for a while now that increase performance with a GM warranty if at all possible. They must have a good cost to performance ratio though.

I was under the belief that the "performance parts" from GM are actually manufactured thru the aftermarket companies? If you add the GM part or the other make aftermarket part it's still an add on part. I have yet to read a post stating that by adding aftermarket parts to their ZL1 the warranty was voided when they went in for service.
