ZL1 - Black stuff coming out of exhaust tip
Greetings,
I was putting air in the tires of my mildly modded ZL1 (see signature) when I happened to notice some black stuff, that looked like steel wool, coming out of the left side inside exhaust tip. I was able to pull some of it out to get a picture of it, but the rest is really in there and I would need to use like pliers to get it out. I added some pictures to help with the diagnosis. It's only in this one exhaust tip as far as I can tell. Anyone seen this before? I am worried that the car is eating apart either the muffler or the cat so I am not going to touch it until I get a little more information. -Tommy

It's the muffler packing.
