You can do a 9.55 lower with a 2.55 upper being that you have a good heat exchanger, but based what you have if you convert to E85 you might see 80whp gain. Since this is an auto trannyr? At the end of the day go to a track and get your E.T. to know what the car is really doing. I use to play the dyno game from one dyno to another looking for a great number. Some dyno's read high and some are very stingy. If you have your stock baseline dyno before you did all of your work and then dyno after the upgrades on the same dyno will always let you know what you have really gained in horsepower. The clock at the track will always be consistent with you, I have seen as much as 80 hp difference from one dyno to another on just dyno jets alone and 133 hp lower on a mustang. Again the track clock and 60 ft will tell you the deal.

My input is the rotational speed of the supercharger is usually looked down upon because of the heat production. If you keep it serviced and fresh bearing in it, it will last. TONS of guys doing it. Make sure your HX cooling system is as efficient as it can be and let the thing eat. Now, if you aren't prepared to do maintenance on the blower, maybe you don't spin it above 25k, but there's a lot to be had out of these blowers if you are prepared to take the necessary steps.

I know what CVS guys have done to their LSA's. Do you know how many of them have replaced their blowers...or their engines? If it's safe to regularly over rev the charger, why not tune it and over rev the engine as well? Not saying it can't be done, but at what cost? How long will the voodoo last at 8250 rpm? And how many will make it to 150k-200k miles if the regularly rev it to 8250? Spew this crap over at MG6. |

The funny life lesson "just because you can, doesn't mean you should" can be found in this post. I happened to learn this particular lesson while working as an oil change monkey at a local dealership. I was emptying the oil drain caddy via it's fancy(read always breaking) pneumatic extractor running full tilt when a tech walked over asking why I had the pump running wide open? My response was it works faster that way and that's how hard the pump lets me run it. He simply looked at me and said his car runs a lot faster at 100% throttle but it's not gonna last as long as it would under normal conditions... I was 18 at the time and never really put 2 and 2 together before that. A few months after we all started using the machine at a lower speed, it still broke the same way as before hahahaha
Also, isn't more heat generated the faster you spin the supercharger? So at some point you'll be creating more heat that essentially robs the power instead of increasing it. I'd think putting the 2300 on there and spinning it slower would generate less heat and be a lot better for the OPs location considering the brutal temps that Doha is known for. OP, have you tried reaching out to a vendor or speed shop to see what they would recommend? Might be worth hitting up Ted, RPM or a few other sponsors to see what they have to say. Can't beat the experience those guys have with the 5th Gen and they will point you in the right direction to obtain your goals |
