I just spent the last 15 minutes trying to explain to my mother why someone would pay $650k for a Camaro. Starting off with, no, not all Camaros are Z/28s haha.

Aaaaaaand, I missed it live. 8 calls in one shift, haven't done that in a while. Glad the DVR caught it at home. Found it 99% full. If I had that kind of money I wouldn't even want a COPO so I thought for sure it would crack 700K. Surprised at the price, looked like it was gonna stall at 285K. Glad Rick Hendrick got it, he'll take good care of it.

Seen on FB, today.

Pretty much answers a question no one on those Mustang forums is asking today...

Both cars brought roughly 9 times their MSRP. I thought the Z would bring more than that. Didn't he pay $1M for ZL1 #1?

The number of bidders and final price has a lot to do with "both" the car and charity.

Gene Simmons and Shannon Tweed supported a "custom" GT500-engined '56 Ford Pickup...for a CANADIAN Children's Hospital in Saskatoon (anyone heard of that place?!) Saskatchewan...that brought $275,000.

The Mustang GT 5.0 @ $300 was 'way under the money, imho, for a "significant Ford". Again, not even Ron Pratte bothered to bid, and he's bought several "significant" VIN #1 Mustangs...or is this all-new Stang NOT being received as well, generally, as the fan-boyz on the Ford forums would have us believe?

It like a homage to the Mustang II to me.

As I stated, just now, in the Mustang thread, for Ford-Mulally-Farley-someone to NOT have had the foresight to rustle the bushes and get someone...anyone...to pony up some serious ca$h for this supposedly significant Mustang (after they $pent MILLION$ rolling it out) is a major p.r. FAIL.

And televised for ALL to see...

....side note, Gene , if you said planet earth one more time we would have all wretched,.....woooh ok now....., now the patient and beautifull wife Shannon was the speaker for the ride. And she made a magnificant appearance. Nice ! It was entertaining to watch.
