TREMEC shift ball
Has anyone replaced their shift knob with a Tremec shift ball? Personally, I prefer the feel of a round shift knob, and am thinking of getting Tremec's. Is there another shift ball you would recommend? I saw a nice gunmetal ball on American Powertrain's website.

That could be a nice change from the current shift knob.
We see too far.

Doesn’t MGW offer a shift knob and adapter for our 6 gens? Not sure if the Tremec would work on the stock shifter.

I went with an old school SS red with white lettering and racing stripe in my 1LE.

What is this, the 70s?
Actually the knob in the Miata is a sphere, so I'm just playing.

There's no thread on the shift knob (at least on my I4).
It just slides in with a locking screw.

You need the Barton shift adapter to switch to a threaded knob.
I’ve thought about doing an 8 ball but I think I’ll wait for the Blackwing knob instead. |

Yes Barton was the company I was thinking about.

I agree. Would like a cleaner way to attach the shift boot though. That would eat at me.
We see too far.

I had a black aluminum shift knob on a 94, and it was great in every way except for when the car would bake in the sun a while. Had to sort of smack at it to shift until it cooled down, as it was way too hot to really grab.
