5th Gen 45th tires on '17 2SS

Hi all,

Picking up my 2ss next week... excited to be back at home with the Camaro after 4 years with a SUV.

I have like-new '12 45th 2LT tires (not rims). Are these compatiable with the 2SS stock rims (both rims are 20")?

Both the '12 and '17 are 245F and 270R - just the two numbers following this are different. Not sure. Would be nice to swap the all-season tires with the performance for the winter months.

Thanks!

A 245/45-20 will fit the rim but will be to tall so you will get lots of rubbing, the 45 after the 245 is the height.

245/45-20

245mm is the tire width
45 is the aspect ratio which determines how tall the sidewall is.
20 is the rim size.

A 245/45-20 tire is 28.68" tall. Here is how the math works out:

- 245 (tire width) x .45 (aspect ratio) = 110.25mm
- 110.25 / 25.4" = 4.34" (tire height per sidewall)
- 4.34" x 2 (both sidewalls) = 8.68"
- 8.68" + 20" (wheel size) = 28.68"

The stock SS tires are different overall heights on each end, you will want to stay as close as you can to that for the speedo to be right and so you dont freak out the ABS and Traction control system.

Thanks for the feedback, all!

So it's not recommended to use the 5th gen tires I have, correct?

Does anyone have any recommendations for all-season run flats for the stock 2017 2SS rims?

Thanks!

ExCrystal try the BF Goodrich sport comp A/S. They are a good value for the money.

Thanks! Will give those a look.

Thoughts on the Continental DWS 06?
