brake reservoir
i have noticed that the brake fluid reservoir has oozed some fluid
and the reservoir is messy. has anyone had this issue? I replaced the pads with Hawk green pads and changed the rotors to drilled and slotted ones a couple of years ago and I`m not having any braking issues other than the pads sounding somewhat aggressive as I apply the brakes. maybe just a loose cap with a weak seal.

There was a cap recall for that IIRC but not sure if yours was included.
Did you overflow the reservoir when you pushed the caliper pistons back during the brake job? That could cause a temporary high fluid level. Just a thought. |

A loose cap can contribute to seepage, but the cap and the diaphragm are designed to relieve pressure from heat build up. The diaphragm has a small slit in it and the cap has a tiny relief path that will exit onto the top of the reservoir. If you had installed new pads and had to push the caliper pistons back into the calipers a fair amount, this could raise the fluid level within the reservoir, increasing the chance of seepage.
