2010 V6 Camaro VS. 2007 Mustang V6

So my buddy has been talking shit about beating me in a race. He has an 07 Mustang V6 4.0, with an air box, shorty headers and an exhaust. I am running everything in my sig down the 1/4 mile at 14 sec. Does he have a chance and beating me?

Sure seems like 4.0 owners talk a lot of shit. Unless you screw up completely and fall asleep at the line, you should easily beat him.

Yeah, but it produces more drag.

You may be even off the line initially, but past that you should pull away pretty good.

Tell your buddy to supercharge his 4.0 and then he might stand a chance. I don't understand how people are still so damn ignorant in the day and age of Google and the intrawebz.

My buddy has a stock V6 Mustang around the same year and it feels very sluggish in comparison to my V6 Camaro. It's not a bad car, but I don't think they're as quick as our cars are.

From my understanding the newer V6 Mustangs are a lot better.

Fully bolt on 05-10 V6's are on a perfect day mid - high-14 cars at their peak. I mean absolute perfect conditions and all bolt ons. You shouldnt have any issues with it. Unless thats what you are running too.

New v6 on average will leave our V6 by 2-3 cars. Some of them have like 2.73 gears or something and those I'd say its more dead even.

The only redeeming quality of the old 4.0 V6s are that they can handle a lot of boost, thats just what I heard though.

Well driven full bolt on tuned 4.0 with some 4.10's manual will leave a lightly bolted on or stock automatic v6 Camaro.
