So on April 2nd I got my car back from the shop. Dropped it off at WyoSpeed here in Laramie for some cam work. Now installed is an LG G6X3 cam along with new valve springs, hardened pushrods, and a new trunnion kit. The car has been road tuned but not dynotuned yet. Estimates of rwhp have been varying between 450 and 470+ (altitude is a huge factor here). Anyways, below is the vid I made for what it sounds like now. I'll be posting the dyno sheet once I get it on the rollers eventually. I was also planning on swapping for 3:91 gears, but a mistake happened at the dealership with the order so they're on back-order for now. Once they arrive I'll also be putting in a complete BMR rear cradle and differential polyurethane bushing kit and BMR trailing arms to help get the power down and get rid of the wheelhop.

Went drag racing for the first time at Bandimere Speedway yesterday with the Camaro Club of the Rockies. Started off pretty slow, but managed to cut a full 1.1 seconds off my initial trap time. Initially I felt kinda bad that I was getting slow times but one of the officials working there told me the altitude (5800' above sea level) adds a minimum of a full second onto your trap time. After hearing that, I felt a lot better about my times. My 60' and R/T still needs work. Below is the vid of my fastest run of the day. No wheelhop!

Haven't updated this in a while. Guess I'll mention the new mods since my last post.
GM 3:91 Gears BMR Toe Rods I've gone to the drag strip with the Camaro Club of The Rockies a few more times and have been working on improving my times and launches. I've concluded that I have too much power for my current tire setup as I'm getting wheel spin through the majority of my launch and shifts despite my best throttle control efforts. I also managed to get some proper shots of the ZL1 fascia and rockers. Last edited by Powhusku; 08-13-2013 at 01:00 PM. |

Also pulled the trigger on getting my stripes painted on. I got permission from Nightshades to use their design (my old stripes). At the same time, the front fascia as well as all panels with stripes on them are getting new clear coat which I'm told will be very durable and will act as a clear-bra to prevent rock chips. Paint being used is Glasurit as is the clear coat. Glasurit is extremely high quality so I'm really excited to see how it turns out. They are currently being painted by S&L Classics in Casper, WY. They are some of the best painters I know of. Really looking forward to seeing the finished product once it's cured in a few weeks. Stripes aren't the only thing getting painted

Also, my car took it's first car show trophy at the 2013 Speed Gone Wild Car Show back on May 19th. Managed to beat some very cool cars, you can see them by following the link provided for the show I mention earlier. Not a trophy for the prettiest car there, but it's a start!

A few more pics of the recent paint work. Unfortunately I found a flaw while I was looking over the paint, so the shop is currently fixing it. I anticipate getting the car back in a few weeks or so.

Painted and Coilover'd So I Might As Well Dump Some Pics [COTW 9/23/13]
Recently had my stripes painted on as well as installed some new Pfadt Featherlight Coilovers. The stripe design comes from Nightshades, I used to have their vinyl stripes that looked just like this (yes I got permission to use their design, and I also highly recommend their vinyl stripe kits, super high quality and durability). The stripes were painted by a shop in Casper, WY called S&L Classics. I've worked with them before and their quality is second to none. While I was there, I also had them paint my brake calipers, tail light bezels, and rear bowtie to match the stripes.
I should note, Only the first 7 pics have the coilovers installed. The remaining pics are from before. |

Beautiful! I really like what you've done with it! The blue calipers really set it off too!
