Drove the car home yesterday. Mechanics thrown his hands up. Why didn’t I do this project when I lived next to some race shops?!?!
The car drives fantastic on the freeway and through town. It just will not idle. So stopping sucks. But running wise it sounds and pulls like a monster! Just have to figure out this $*#% 0300 code. For all the guys that have these big cams I’m amazed that there aren’t better solutions. Mike |

get yourself a Bluetooth obd2 reader and download the app called torque or get something else that can give u live data. could be something as simple as a vacuum leak....without live data it's all guess work.

Bottletalk,
I’ve got the HPTuner MPVI2+ and just uploaded a copy of the data log to the tuner. Hopefully that will help. |

Well got it going. It was the tune. Steve has been working with different tunes and finally found the gremlin with the MAF sensor and got it all dialed in. We are still working through some final details on the tune and tweaking it a bit. But all in all was able to take it and wring it out a little today so that felt good!
One thing that's weird to me is the noise the engine makes now after the cam. This is my first cammed car and maybe its normal, but all the lifters and stuff make some good noise. Part of that is I put a vented hood on it so that has to attribute to some of it. Are aggressive cams and supporting mods just noiser by default? Thanks to all that got on here and answered questions and helped me out. Glad to have the car up and going! It sounds insane! |

Well it's going for sure. Runs great. However now I'm still getting the random misfire P0300 code as well as a P0010 code. That's with the best tune I've had so far. Steve redid the tune and turned off the code for both of these and the car went right back into not being able to start again.
I'm stumped. Did a new MAF sensor thinking that was it but no dice. :( |

Earlier in the thread, You mentioned about the chain tensioner and having it not have much pressure against the chain like maybe the spring missing. Changing this to the dogbone LS2 type seems to be the goto one to keep the chain from slapping around. Could there still be too much play in your chain without the tensioner keeping pressure on it and allowing the timing to walk around a little? Just a thought, no expert here.

Just wondering... When you did the kit, did you measure for pushrods and order them to spec?
